I have been planning on making a farming class for awhile now and my original plan was to make a warrior as a farming charater as they seem the best, but they have been hit pretty badly with the recent nerfs so I am not sure they are the best farming class anymore, and I was wondering what peopel find are the best now.

almost all classes have some pretty effective builds. my favourites are.
ele, warrior, monk, necro, rit

My main farmers are my warrior, monk, necro and ritualist (not necessarily in that order). Recently I have been using my rit, mostly for a change of pace, but I find them all to work quite well.

Ele first I believe. It has so many ways to kill even after the AI update for example you can just use sliver armor, or Sandstorm earthquake aftershock, or Meteor shower bed of coals lava font flameburst. It also has alot of tanking capabilities such as Stoneflesh Aura, Obsidian Flesh, Armor of earth.

It also compliments a second profession really well for example with all these earth enchantments Mystic Regeneration is perfect. Or if you want infinite spell immunity you can do Serpents quickness + obsidian flesh. Works well with Mesmer with the Mantras to gain energy and reduce damage. Also works well with protective spirit with a monk. Also is a great boss farmer with Assasin and shadow form.

Monks dont really have a good way to kill.
Warriors Are reliable but slow.
Mesmers have Illusionary weapon but thats about it.
Rangers Can trap but its not fast.
Ritualists only have VwK which makes em scatter.

VwK dosnt scatter.unless there was an update in the 5 hours iv been offline.

Depends on what you want to farm. Ele and Sin are generally best for green farming. Warrior and dervish can farm areas where higher armor is required really well. Monks and necros can farm in places where there's no ench removal. Rit can farm large clusters of average enemies and some bosses with VWK. Rangers have some solo farming, most notably in FoW forest, but is pretty limited. Mesmers can farm UW with certain builds, but is also pretty limited. Paragons suck at farming, period.

Ranger is by far the best farming build in my opinion.

It seems that melee mobs will ALWAYS scatter when there are 3 or more on the same target. Especially with VwK, since you're holding the ashes and can't even wand to bring them back until it's over.

well one warriors arent slow i use my warrior for vermin farming and hydra farming all the time and i kill fast and a i make money fast...but theres a few builds with the ele im tryin to get down and they're workin so i think the ele and the warrior are by far you best choices just my opinion though

I think ele's are the best farmers at the current time because the amount of bosses u can solo with E/A or E/D is very big. You can also farm smites in UW very quickly

I farm on my Elementalist, Mesmer, and Warrior, and I'd have to say my least favorite (yet most globaly useful) is my Warrior. It seems a Warrior can farm more regions than any other class in the game, although usually a bit slower.

every class can farm, yes even paragorns...
the question is what you're trying to farm and of course if you have the neccessary skills...
assassins are best for green farming with their shadow form. necros and monks are best for farming any place without enchantment removal thanx to their powering 55 builds. necros are also great green farmers thanx to 55+spoil victor. warriors are best for farming mediocre mobs such as vermins, hydras, trolls, grawls, etc. rangers are best for farming high level areas such as FoW with their traps. Elementalists are great green farmers as well as mediocre mobs farming.
the rest are also good farmers in the right hands.
